European SystemC User's Group Workshop at DATE 2012

The 25th European SystemC User's Group Meeting will be supplemented by a full-day workshop on Friday, March 16th, 2012. The merger of the Open SystemC Initiative (OSCI) and Accellera unifies trend-setting standardization activities in the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) world and opens a wide range of new perspectives and synergies. The standards that are established and promoted by OSCI and Accellera cover a broad spectrum of today's and tomorrow's Electronic System Level (ESL) modeling and verification strategies.

This workshop is focused on the core technologies from both the OSCI and the Accellera world, and gives an outlook on how techniques may collaborate and converge. The format of the workshop includes four invited sessions from Doulos, Synopsys, Cadence, and ARM providing a substantiated overview of the core technologies and their future way providing a practical guide on how those technologies can be successfully applied for improving a companies design strategy. In a second section, the workshop provides a platform for users to present their work based on OSCI and Accellera. The detailed agenda can be found here.

OSCI TLM-2.0 Tutorial Video

The Open SystemC Initiative (OSCI) is pleased to announce an online video tutorial titled "TLM-2.0 in Action: An Example-based Approach to Transaction-level Modeling and the New World of Model Interoperability." The technical tutorial is free and available now.

To register and view, visit:
http://www.systemc.org/news/events/tlm20tutorial

The tutorial contains presentations from the 2009 Design and Verification Conference (DVCon). It discusses TLM-2.0 concepts and mechanics as well as some fine points of the standard that emerged during the development of the Language Reference Manual. The examples demonstrate modeling styles as well as integration of legacy models based on TLM-1 interfaces, which are fully preserved in TLM-2.0.
